South West Contractors was established in 1981 by David Wallace, and has earned a reputation as a respectable and trustworthy contractor. We have experience across all sectors of work, from Residential to Commercial & Industrial, new build projects and refurbishments. Together, the directors have over 80 years of experience between them, which is reflected on the quality of the projects we complete.

Health & Safety

SWC regards health and safety as essential part of a successful business. It is of the utmost importance to us that we care for the safety, health and wellbeing of our employees and everyone else who interfaces with our business activities.

SWC’s approach to managing health and safety is structured and risk based. We aim to create a safe working environment by assessing risks, adopting good practice and ensuring that safe systems of work are in place. All of our sites are monitored by external safety consultants (The Building Safety Group). Bi-weekly audits of the sites ensure site managers are kept abreast of any issues. BSG also highlight potential health & safety issues to ensure risks are carefully managed.

Meet the team

ANDY WALLACE, CONTRACTS MANAGER & DIRECTOR

Andy has been an important part of the company after he joined in 1987. He later went on to become a Director for the company after his Father, Dave Wallace, retired from the industry. Andy has 30 years of experience in the industry, ranging from Site Management to Director roles.

MIKE TINLINE, SITE MANAGER & DIRECTOR

Mike had been working in the industry prior to joining the company in 2000, and now has over 35 years of experience. He has successfully managed numerous jobs across the South West.

LYNDON WILLIAMS, SITE MANAGER & DIRECTOR

Lyndon began working as a Site Manager for a timber frame manufacturer, and has worked both in the UK and abroad for large parts of his career. He joined South West Contractors in 1995 and has since managed multiple works, building a great relationship with our clients.

LIZ WATKINS, QUANTITY SURVEYOR & DIRECTOR

After joining the team in 2015, Liz has taken a lead role in the Estimating department. With 10 years of experience and a Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying (RICS), she has bought a wealth of knowledge to the board.
